Range of the Jaguar

Showcasing the animals of the neotropical rainforest, this marquee attraction won the 2005 American Zoological Association award for Exhibit of the Year. See six jaguars as they fish for food in the pools of water.

Zoo History

Jacksonville Zoo opened in 1914, and the first exhibit was a red deer fawn. It moved to its present location at the mouth of the Trout River in 1925, and has since grown to twice its original size.
